Within a week, "The 10" will be among the UPG within the next 48 hours.  Please pray for travel safety, favor among the people and opportunities to spread the Gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit!

FYI - "The 10" refers to 10 seminary students from an underground seminary in East Asia who is serving this next month among an Unreached People Group providing humanitarian relief efforts and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Funds Provided 05/21/2010

We want you to know that the funds were provided per our last entry.  The 10 East Asian brothers are now on their way to the identified Unreached People Group they will be focusing on over this next month.  Pray for favor, open doors and a move of the Holy Spirit to change lives!

I want to share about two needs we have that will get the gospel to two different unreached people groups (UPG) through students studying at an underground seminary here in East Asia.

The first need is an immediate need and we are needing the funds within 24-36 hours.  This has been a last minute project that has come together very quickly.  In partnership with this particular seminary and a fellow missionary with another ministry, we now have 11 seminary students ready to travel to a city comprised primarily of an unreached people group to help with some humanitarian relief efforts.

We recently completed our first Unreached People Group (UPG) Project.  It involved 4 local East Asian brothers who visited several UPG in Western East Asia.  We are currently evaluating the events and will be sending out an update in the next issue of "News from CrossCampus".  Be on the look out!

Recently, we launched our Rural College Project.  This project is focused on a special group of college students who come from impoverished families.  They have been accepted into a special college that provides each of them an education to give them tools so they can find a job, work and earn enough money to support themselves.  Otherwise, their future will be bleak.

Our role is two fold.  Our primary goal is presenting the Gospel to each student and providing discipleship for those who believe.  This is accomplished by partnering with local East Asian churches and getting them into the school to meet students and build relationships so they can be the ones sharing the Gospel.

Second, we are teaching English to each student, as this is part of their curriculum.  They currently have no native English speakers teaching them English so we are partnering with the school to ensure they receive as best of an English education as possible from native English speakers.

In the coming months, we'll post additional information and pictures on our website.  You can follow up by going to the "Ministry" tab above then clicking on "Rural College Project"

Today, a pastor came to us because his church, many who are college students, took up an offering this past Sunday for the relief work in Haiti.  It is incredible watching God move in the hearts of East Asian believers to assist those hurting 8,000 miles away.

C.L. is an East Asian brother in our mentoring ministry.  I just met with him this evening and he shared that he'll be returning home soon to visit his whole family.  He's the only believer in his family but his parents have forbidden him in the past from bringing his Bible into their home or even sharing about his faith.  However, he plans to do both this time around.  So, I want you to join with me in partnering with C.L.

Recently, a 7.0 earthquake hit the capital of Haiti.  More than 100,000 people are feared dead.  Although we are an East Asian focused ministry, it's difficult to sit by and do nothing.

Being and East Asian based ministry, helping in Haiti poses some challenges but we want to attempt to do something.  At this time, we want to challenge you to do the following three things.

1.  Donate money to help provide relief.  There are many suggestions but we suggest Youth With a Mission* (also view YWAM Haiti*) because they work closely with the church in Haiti.  The reason we suggest them is that they are a ministry that works directly with the church in Haiti.  They are doing more than providing relief, they are providing relief and sharing the Gospel.

2.  Pray for God to bring healing & relief to the entire country, for the church in Haiti to take a leading & active role in the relief and for the Gospel to pentrate the hearts of the Haitian people.

3.  Pray for the church in East Asia to step up and assist in some way to assist the church in Haiti with relief efforts, at the very least in monetary assistance.

* Youth With a Mission & YWAM Haiti are not official partners with CCI or governed by CCI.  This information is listed for your convenience only.  CCI is not responsible for the funds YWAM receives or how they utilize them.

Christmas Update 01/02/2010

We are honored that God has chosen us to minister in East Asia full-time.  Recently, 75 students we're ministered to by our team.  More than 50% of these students had no prior exposure or knowledge of the Gospel or God's love.  Now they do!  PTL!

More info coming by first week of Feb.  Right now, we are assembling the information, ensuring follow up is done by local believers and then we'll create our next paper newsletter.
