Side Note:  One of my hopes is that some of these articles we post, especially ones deriving from personal time in God’s Word about struggles in our own lives, will help you as you follow Jesus.  Just because we live on the so called “mission field” doesn’t mean we have it all together.

Yesterday I was talking on Skype with a friend of ours who lives in South Africa ministering to children.  She is also an American and was telling me about the safety and security issues that everyone in South Africa faces on a daily basis.

As I read the book “Back to Jerusalem”, I’m reminded of the necessity of unity within the Body of Christ.  I believe the one tool Satan uses most often to prevent the Gospel from advancing to all nations is “Disunity” within the Body of Christ.

I’ve been guilty of causing disunity with some brothers in my life.  I’m guilty of slander, criticism and unforgiveness toward them.  Each time I have fallen short of the glory of God and sinned in these ways, Satan has won a battle and just possibly, someone has missed out on hearing the Gospel and this has eternal ramifications.  I don’t want to know of someone who entered eternity because my pride and ego got in the way of unity within the Body of Christ.

Meet Mimi

I met “Mimi” last year at an English club in East Asia.  Each time we met, I got to talk with her about the Gospel on some level.  Then she joined one of our summer English Camps where she met six of our incredible summer volunteers.  She heard the Gospel again and the time was right.  Mimi became a follower of Jesus, joined one of our very first small groups and was baptized this year.

I recently read through Mark chapters 4-6.  These chapters show us the incredible power, authority and sovereignty of God.  Jesus is healing the sick and casting out demons and even the demons recognized the authority of Jesus so they trembled.

Today, according to Joshua Project and Finishing the Task, there are 6,900 Unreached People Groups (2.81 billion people with very little to no access to the Gospel) and 635 of them are completely unengaged by anyone with the Gospel.

We are seeking to open our first "Student Center" in East Asia.  The purpose is to have a facility where can we host discipleship small groups for university students, establish a church (one that multiplies) around a community of university campuses and a place where various Evangelistic activities can take place in a private and secure location.

This is the last day for this specific Call to Prayer.  Thank you for joining with us in prayer.  Today is also the day to fast, if you committed to do this with us.

Joshua, in the Old Testament, took over Moses’ position to lead Israel into the Promise Land.  Once they began their journey, with Joshua in command, they came to Jericho which had a giant wall surrounding it.  This wall was bigger than Israel could deal with and they knew it, but not too difficult for God to overcome.

Do you think it is possible for a single campus to have 100 small groups within five years?  I say yes.

John chapter 15 is one of my favorite chapters in the bible.  It clearly states that apart from Christ, we can do nothing good.  We desire to see God awaken the hearts of a multitude of students to know Him and be reconciled to Him, through Christ.  But despite our best efforts, best communication and best explanation of the Gospel, it will fall on deaf ears if the Holy Spirit does not open their ears.  It’s that simple.  No amount of effort on our part will ever convince a person that Jesus Christ is the only way to God.  Only the Holy Spirit can do this.

I have the privilege to be praying daily with two local brothers during this Call to Prayer.  It’s been incredible hearing what’s in their heart as they pray and seek God.

Day 2 Call to Prayer – East Asian students are eager to hear about different ideas so they are open to hearing about Mormonism, Christianity and many other faiths.  It’s good that they discover what these beliefs represent but it’s eternally vital they discover who designed Truth and what the Truth is.
