I’m sure you’re keeping up with the events in Japan so I won’t talk about those details.  I do want to discuss what’s happening in East Asia.

Anxiety and fear is high and widespread.  Many fear the nuclear problems in Japan may affect us here very soon, although the US Embassy has told us that there is no evidence there is any threat to this nation in the near future.

However, in the USA, there is a big rush for iodine pills.  Here, we don’t have those pills so there is a mad rush to buy all the salt with iodine a person can possibly find.  Of course, the price for a bag of salt has skyrocketed over night.

In response, I invite you to join us in a Jericho Prayer Effort.  This prayer effort is based on the story of Joshua when he led Israel to inherit the land flowing with milk and honey, promised by God.  One of their steps was to tear down the walls of Jericho.  God told them to march around the city wall for 6 days.  On the 7th, they were to cry out, play their horns and basically make a loud noise.  The walls fell.

We want to see the walls torn down that are holding back students from hearing and responding to the Gospel.  I believe the Lord has been showing me lately that the time is now for a rapid expansion of the Gospel among East Asian students.

This prayer effort will begin this Saturday and end next Friday (March 19-25).  On the last day, I ask that you fast for 24 hours, beginning after dinner Thursday night and ending your fast with dinner on Friday night.  If at all possible, I encourage you to join with others during this prayer effort in prayer.

If you decide to join in this prayer effort, please let me know by sending us an email at office@crosscampus.net.  I plan to send a daily update to those involved in this prayer effort.

If we are to see a rapid advancement of the Gospel, I believe prayer will be the fuel.

For His Glory,

Steve / President
