East Asian Church Gives to Haiti 02/02/2010
Today, a pastor came to us because his church, many who are college students, took up an offering this past Sunday for the relief work in Haiti. It is incredible watching God move in the hearts of East Asian believers to assist those hurting 8,000 miles away. East Asian Brother / Feb 12-21 01/18/2010
C.L. is an East Asian brother in our mentoring ministry. I just met with him this evening and he shared that he'll be returning home soon to visit his whole family. He's the only believer in his family but his parents have forbidden him in the past from bringing his Bible into their home or even sharing about his faith. However, he plans to do both this time around. So, I want you to join with me in partnering with C.L. Interesting - Future of Short term Missions 01/14/2010
Haiti - Not East Asia but they need our help 01/13/2010
Recently, a 7.0 earthquake hit the capital of Haiti. More than 100,000 people are feared dead. Although we are an East Asian focused ministry, it's difficult to sit by and do nothing. Being and East Asian based ministry, helping in Haiti poses some challenges but we want to attempt to do something. At this time, we want to challenge you to do the following three things. 1. Donate money to help provide relief. There are many suggestions but we suggest Youth With a Mission* (also view YWAM Haiti*) because they work closely with the church in Haiti. The reason we suggest them is that they are a ministry that works directly with the church in Haiti. They are doing more than providing relief, they are providing relief and sharing the Gospel. 2. Pray for God to bring healing & relief to the entire country, for the church in Haiti to take a leading & active role in the relief and for the Gospel to pentrate the hearts of the Haitian people. 3. Pray for the church in East Asia to step up and assist in some way to assist the church in Haiti with relief efforts, at the very least in monetary assistance. * Youth With a Mission & YWAM Haiti are not official partners with CCI or governed by CCI. This information is listed for your convenience only. CCI is not responsible for the funds YWAM receives or how they utilize them. Christmas Update 01/02/2010

More than 50% of these students had no prior exposure or knowledge of the Gospel or God's love. Now they do! PTL! More info coming by first week of Feb. Right now, we are assembling the information, ensuring follow up is done by local believers and then we'll create our next paper newsletter. Mentoring is like second nature for me. Beginning a year or two after I believed in Christ, God placed a key man in my life to mentor me. The three years he mentored me, meeting almost weekly with him for only an hour a week, had the largest impact on my spiritual growth during my first five years as a believer. In fact, I believe I would not be in this ministry if it were not for the time he poured into my life. Thankfully since then, I have been blessed with additional mentors through different periods of my life. |
