prayer needs for students & graduates

The following is a list of needs we have identified within the community of college students & graduates in East Asia.  This list, although incomplete, is here as a tool to assist you in your prayer time so you have specific information to pray through.

  1. The pressure East Asian college students experience is tremendous.  Pressure to succeed, pressure to marry and pressure to find good jobs.  This is only scratching the surface.  The pressure is so great, the #1 cause of death among East Asian college students is suicide.  Hundreds of thousands succeed every year.

  2. At least 95% of all college students do not know Christ personally and more than half have never been exposed to the Gospel or a Bible.  Yes, the Gospel is advancing rapidly here but so many still have never heard it one time.

  3. Discipleship remains the biggest need in the East Asian church.  Evangelism is exploding and training centers for full-time ministers are being established in many places but relational every day discipleship for believers as a whole still appears to be limited.  As I interact with more believers, I’m convinced more than ever that mentoring (relational discipleship) is vital here.  They are voicing this very thing and asking for help, which is one of our areas of interest.
